I think JD gave concise answers. He seemed very comfortable and confident. Level headed. Calm, cool and collected. Walz just seemed very uncomfortable. He really did not answer all of the questions. Both candidates were cordial and respectful to each other.

JD was polite & to the POINT! The moderators were very "ONE" sided & I personally thought they were RUDE & despicable towards JD. And Kamala's VP choice is a WHIMP - but then she likes WHIMPS because they make her look "strong"!

JD Vance did a great job. He's a great choice for VP..

I’m worried when I hear people saying they are going to vote for Kamala. In what bizarro world are they living in or are they so completely self sufficient that they’re immune to what others have to do with their finances to just try to make ends meet, if possible, at the end of every month? And have they actually sat down and listened to their choices for our government and actually thought about the words coming out of their mouths about what they’re going to do TO America and TO Americans? Donald Trump has done FOR America and FOR Americans when he was in office. As a businessman he understands how to make a successful country run FOR EVERYONE, not just for the rich and powerful but also for anyone who wants to actually make a living! Listening to the debate between the two candidates for the vice presidency there was only one person who was qualified to take the place of a president if necessary and that person was Vance. His mind is clear and his heart is in the right place for everyone, and for common sense answers on issues. A self proclaimed “knucklehead” is not who we need one heart beat away from the most powerful position in the world. We’ve had a knucklehead—two actually— in there already now for over three years! And I ask anyone— how’s your life going now compared to how things went eight years ago? How’s your electric bill going these days and how’s your gasoline prices going these days and how’s your grocery shopping coming along these days and with winter coming how’s the heating bill going to affect your “budget”? How’s your vehicle insurance going? How’s your schools going today? You really want socialism/communism to take place over capitalism? One look at any other country that has embraced socialism or communism and you should be able to understand how wrong it is no matter who says differently. Castro had his own island for years and still couldn’t make it work! And it’s still a mess because the government has no desire to change because they enjoy the benefits of the system but the people get the leftovers. I don’t understand people who want the government to tell them what they will do/be/ think/say/how they will live! A revolution was made just because of people wanting a government that gave them more freedom over their lives. Remember 1776? Wasn’t that long ago! Why are so many people willing to throw what we have away for something that has never ever worked? Please Vote for D.J. Trump.

I thought Vance was very articulate and on point. He'll make a great Vice President.

It’s sickening to watch these networks with such obvious disdain for Trump , Vance and Americans !

I agree that J.D. Vance won the debate and seemed much more confident and compassionate.

Vance won! No doubt.

The best one I ever viewed. JD was the winner, but in watching Tim I think that he was really learning a thing or two about how a debate should be done. He kept looking at JD like 'don't hurt me', and JD did him no harm.

I thought it was interesting how Walz quoted Matthew 25:40, when talking about immigration. This verse is Jesus saying, "...whatever you do for the least of these...you do for me."

But when the Democrats talk about abortion, Jesus' words, or any Scripture reference is never part of the conversation. As JD Vance said last night, "it doesn't pass the smell test."

Expand full comment

As far as abortion goes, no one talks about the unborn's rights. God hates the taking of a life of the defenseless. Likewise, no one likes to talk about the globalist pushing the climate agenda to create the discord that they wish.

Firmly believe that JD Vance will influence Trump in a positive way. Trump will listen. Doesn’t matter what Walz or Harris believe or say as they won’t be making any decisions on how the country proceeds with being destroyed forever. Just a mouthpiece.

I think J. D. Vance won hands down. He spoke clearly about the difference between Trump and Harris and how we were much better off when Trump was president than we are now under Biden/Harris!

I think that both men did better than either of their bosses did! Senator Vance did a masterful job of debating and presenting both himself and Pres. Trump’s policies.

My only disappointment with JD Vance was the weak position he and the Republican party continue to take in the abortion discussions. Why can't we stay with the irrefutable facts? 1. There are 8 billion human beings living on earth today who were once not "viable" in the early stages of their human development yet we have all survived to be alive today because we were allowed to develop and be born. 2. All 8 billion of us have gone through the very same stages of development before we were born. 3. In the USA since 1973 we have terminated the lives of over 65 million unique human beings who would have otherwise become US citizens. And we have paid for this to be done with our own tax dollars. 4. If we do not recognize the unborn as human life, what kind of life is it? And why are the body parts being bought and sold to be used as human body parts?

J.D. Vance was stellar in his role as Vice-President last night. Truly, Presidential qualities. Prayers continue for this most important election.

I was impressed by Vance. I do think he might have missed a few things. I am not sure that the questions allowed for him to mention things like tampons in the boys bathrooms. Waltz sound better than I expected. That being said he still told several lies. That didn't impress me at all.

I think Vance won. I doubt that they changed anyone's mind on how they would vote. We can hope though.

Vance won for sure. One of my favorite parts of the night was when he called out the media.

The moderators need to be hauled out and keeled. The have less integrity than a gnat and use it to prove they are nothing but puppets for the dems. But the candidates did try to get to the points despite moderator interference. It remained relatively calm. It did bring out some points that needed to come to light. From now on require the moderators are chosen by both parties and stop using personnel who are TV personnel. The moderators have to have integrity and so far their personal integrity has been ABSENT for both debates!! They did nothing but show complete lack of integrity.

It was difficult to watch those two partisan hacks try to make this debate a Kamala Harris infomercial. Every question was worded with biased statements to support the DNC. It is obvious to me that the DNC has infiltrated every aspect of the media and nothing has been done about it. J D Vance was a Saint to put up with those ridiculous moderators. And nothing about Ukraine? Nothing about October 7? Nothing about the Longshoremen Strike? CBS has proven to be garbage.

I liked Vance going in, but I really like him now.

I’m confident Walz had the questions (again) in advance. He had too much information available and it was too spontaneous. Sen. Vance did an excellent job remaining modulated but he dropped the Agenda 2025 comment and didn’t refute it. Agenda 2025 is a Democratic construct, again; lies. The Democrat lies become their truths. They need to be shut down. Another lost chance was to hammer Walz on the Border. The statistics are overwhelming.

JD won in so many ways. Walz mis-speaks way too often (have no idea what is truth or fiction) and isn't nearly as knowledgeable about the important issues. To me, I feel our country needs to release this administration from power and get the Trump/Vance team elected so we can get our borders closed, be able to afford food, gas and homes and clean up the mess Biden/Harris have created. The censorship by the media and Dems are unacceptable and I yearn for truth, fairness, unbiased and honest reporting again.

The use of lawfare to threaten and intimidate Trump and bolster their failed platform and candidates is criminal. They're obviously being coached by people who are used to threatening others, likely dictators and billionaires who have been setting precedents of oppression in our society that we hate. These policies and people are loathed by a majority of Americans. They are mafia, directly behaving in actions to effect the election results. The reason they asked JD about accepting the election results disturbs me. They ask this every time anything election-related occurs. In my opinion this is a televised real and direct threat to the people representing those seeking to use legal processes to remove them from power. It reeks of deep state. We have already become a communist banana Republic. They don't even hide their malicious intent and intimidation.

J.D. Smoked Tampon Tim. But he did it in a humble way... in a way the Touchy Feely crowd could concentrate on what he was saying, instead of getting instantly turned off by a "Scary, TOUGH Delivery", they complain about Trump!

The host shouldn't have the last word, especially when her "fact check" is misleading. JD was right to challenge her. Again it seemed like 3 against 1. Vance did a superb job.

I think the "debate" was pretty even, though I preferred JD Vance. He actually attempted to answer the questions, besides rebutting Tim Walz. Vance missed some opportunities, like when Walz referred to Project 2025 as "Trump's", and when Walz claimed the U. S. is producing more oil and gas now than ever before. But then, as reader Deborah Simmons said, " I think Vance is having to pick and choose which lie he addresses in the limited one minute he has to rebut."

No one whose mind was made up changed their minds. I didn't hear anyone offer any opinions that haven't been said before. Lies went unchecked from Walz and conservative viewpoints were called lies. Pretty much your typical debate.

As my son so cleverly pointed out:

J.D. had three jobs tonight …

1) prove he’s not weird.

2) masterfully articulate trumps plan and be the skilled lawyer that knows how to be the calm to trumps storm so trumps ticket looks more manageable

3) win over suburban women. Prove Trump makes smart decisions with who he surrounds himself with that suburban women can get on board with. Many don’t want to vote for Harris. They won’t vote for Trump but now might for the ticket of Trump Vance.

I would add JD also proved that he could take over the Presidency, if God forbid, anything happened to President Trump.
