UPDATE!
Matt Gaetz announced that even though he’s withdrawn his nomination for Attorney General, he will not seek to rescind his resignation and return to the House. Critics pointed out that a return could trigger the release of an Ethics Committee report on him, but Gaetz claims there are already lots of “fantastic Floridians” who’ve stepped up to run for his seat, and he plans to do whatever Trump wants, adding that he thinks eight years is enough time to serve in Congress.
There are also rumors that he might want to run for Florida Governor, with Ron DeSantis leaving office in 2026, or possibly sooner if he appoints himself Senator. The Senate is where eighty years is considered not enough time to serve.
Sometimes it is better to be cautious when reporting the news
We urged caution on reports that Russia had fired an ICBM at Ukraine. As Redstate.com reports, a Pentagon spokesperson now says it was not an ICBM but "an experimental intermediate-range ballistic missile" based on an existing ICBM design. “She also confirmed that Russia had alerted the Pentagon to the launch in accordance with nuclear risk reduction protocols.”

So despite President Biden’s best efforts to provoke Putin and escalate the war, Putin seems to be refusing to take the bait and limiting his escalation, likely waiting for Trump to take office. It’s a scary thought that our best hope for preventing World War III until Biden leaves office is to hope that Vladimir Putin remains calm and reasonable.
We won’t miss you
MSNBC is being “spun off” from NBC, which some worry could spell the demise of the channel, while many others hope and pray that it will. Here’s a perfect example of why. Only MSNBC could look at the heartbreaking story of young Laken Riley, brutally murdered by a Venezuelan gang member/illegal alien whose path to murder was cleared at every step by Democrat politicians, and write a headline that oozes sympathy…for the murderer.
This televised cesspool should be spun off the nearest cliff.
Court Update
After canceling the sentencing date for Donald Trump, New York Judge Juan Merchan granted Trump’s request to file a motion to dismiss the charges. His attorneys have until December 2nd to file it, and DA Alvin Bragg has until Dec. 9th to respond.
Let’s hope he responds by folding his cards and walking away from this case, which did nothing but increase Trump’s support because it was clearly a perversion of the law to try to imprison a political opponent. The appeals court was almost certain to scrap this entire embarrassment to New York’s judicial system anyway. It’s time to end the lawfare and stop trying to abuse legal powers for political purposes.
Donald Trump is getting really good at dodging bullets:
His senior advisor Dan Scavino said he’d talked to Trump, and the rumor of former Republican Rep. Mike Rogers being chosen to head the FBI is “not happening.” He said Trump’s own words were, “I have never even given it a thought."
Many MAGA Republicans complained about Rogers being considered, since they see him as an establishment figure who would protect the FBI status quo and block desperately-needed reforms. This should set their minds at ease…at least until the next rumor. If you want a happy life, maybe just ignore rumors.

Insane ravings
We don’t usually cover the insane political ravings of Hollywood celebrities, but a couple have gone so far, they’re forging new territory in the world of crazy overreacting. Rob Reiner has apparently been driven so insane by Trump’s huge win that he announced on social media, “I have made the decision to take the next few days to check into a facility for peace and relaxation. No phones, social media , no trolls, just calmness to heal my pain.”
We wish him well at the facility, and we hope that any doctors who examine his head don’t find that it’s actually filled with meat.
In other celebrity meltdown news, Ellen DeGeneres and her partner Portia DeRossi are reportedly the first celebrities to actually make good on their “threat” to leave America if Trump won, as they plan to move to their house in rural England.
However, you should take that with a grain of salt. It’s a secondhand report. Plus, Ellen’s had major image problems that cost her her talk show, she bought that UK house long before the election and was reportedly already planning to move, and she’s been facing uncomfortable questions about her alleged close friendship with P. Diddy. But sure, she’s moving to England because of…Trump! Yeah, let’s say Trump! That’s the ticket!...
Finally, you might find this hard to believe, but there are actually some other leftists who are taking Trump’s win even harder than Rob Reiner. Talk about needing to be institutionalized!...
