DAILY BIBLE VERSE
Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
Proverbs 16:3
The Real Hope
The whole nation was shaken by the cold-blooded murder of 3 children and 3 adult school officials at the Covenant Presbyterian Church School in Nashville. Because the shooting hit so close to home for us here in Nashville where we tape our show, we can’t ignore how it touched us. I didn’t know any of the victims personally but Cindy Peak, the substitute teacher who was killed is the sister in law of a friend of mine with whom I’ve turkey hunted several times. It turned out that she was also one of the closest friends of the First Lady of Tennessee, Maria Lee, and they were supposed to have dinner together the very night she was murdered.
I never give the name of a mass murderer in any of my media outlets. I have no desire to make a cold-blooded killer famous or turn such a fiend into a celebrity. There was nothing but demonic derangement involved in this heinous crime. The names of the victims should be remembered. And we should especially remember Officer Rex Englebert and Officer Michael Collazo, the courageous Metro Nashville Police Officers who rushed toward the gunfire without shields, protective headgear or tactical suits and took down the killer ending the rampage. They are true heroes. They acted without regard to risk to themselves and understood that the children in that school had no protection from the killer. Unlike the school shootings in Florida or Uvalde, Texas where police officers waited until it was safe for themselves, these officers hurried toward the danger to stop the carnage.
The killer was transgender—a biological female who had decided to identify as a male, but by the writings she left behind, was a very disturbed, angry, and bitter person who decided to take her vengeance out on 3 nine-year old children attending a Christian school, the headmaster of the school, the school custodian, and a substitute teacher all of whom died trying to protect the children. Attempts by radical leftists, transgender activists, and their stooges in the media, the killer was not some kind of victim. Her mass murders were not justified because more rational than her worked on laws that protected children from being chemically castrated or surgically mutilated when they were too young to even understand what their actions would do. Her gunning down innocent people was not the fault of sane parents and legislators who think it unseemly that young girls would be expected to undress and shower with boys pretending to be girls. The person who got the weapons, wrote a detailed manifesto, and who killed out of hate, rage, mental illness and/or a demonic spirit is the only one at fault. She put on full display the depravity of people who reject the ultimate teaching of Jesus to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Our hearts ache for the victims and their families. Our spirits are filled with gratitude for the courageous cops who literally stood between a psychopathic killer and helpless children and put their lives in harm’s way to protect the students and their teachers from being victims. And we have nothing but disgust and contempt for the politicians and media morons who used the horrific shootings to push their failed political agenda or worse, who even talked more about preferences for ice cream and joked about who was actually being targeted than to display genuine grief for the victims and their families.
Everyone has an opinion about how to prevent these awful moments. For some, it’s just banning what some politicians call “assault weapons” even though most of them don’t even know what that means. For others, it involves more focus on mental health treatment and institutional placement for dangerous people. None of us have all the answers, but the real answer is probably better understand by what is in our hearts rather than what is in our hands. I saw a statement this week that best summed it up: “A rock in bad hands killed Abel. A rock in good hands killed Goliath. It's not about the rock.” How very true. And the real hope is the ROCK of AGES.

President Trump update
President Trump’s attorneys revealed how they plan to respond to the forthcoming indictment(s) in New York. They will do nothing at the arraignment, because that would be “showmanship.” But they will take the indictment, dissect it for weaknesses (talk about an embarrassment of riches) and then file a motion for immediate dismissal. They also said they have no reason to believe the judge is biased. I assume the “wink-wink” is implied.
But in the meantime, a “source close to the judge” (don’t you love how all these strict, by-the-book legal enforcers keep breaking the law by leaking to the media?) claims the judge plans to impose a gag order on Trump to prevent him from talking about the case – and not coincidentally, pointing out the injustice of it while raising millions in campaign donations.

The very idea of putting a gag order on Donald Trump boggles the mind. It’s like ordering your cat to take a bath. It would also add an extra layer of graffiti onto the Constitution, as we'd not only have a local DA trying to file federal charges against a former President for no reason other than politics, but we’d also have a judge trying to deprive a former President of his freedom of speech and right to defend himself in public. That's so un-American, it's like something out of the January 6th trials.
On the other hand, as Bonchie at Redstate.com points out, this could actually help Trump, as his lawyers would probably appreciate him refraining from calling the judge a biased, leftist hack while they’re trying to convince him to drop the charges.
Judicial Watch head Tom Fitton warns "All bets are off"
You might remember when Senate Democrats wanted to make it easier to confirm leftwing activist judges, so they did away with the filibuster to remove the minority’s veto power. At the time, Mitch McConnell warned them that what goes around comes around, and they would rue the day they did it when they were in the minority.
But liberals have never been good at either long-term planning or delayed gratification, so they did it anyway. And once Trump got in with a Republican Senate that started confirming lots of Constitution-protecting conservative judges on a straight majority vote, the Dems were howling with rage that the news rules they created now applied to them. It took them all of five minutes to forget that lesson once they regained power and started trying to do away with the filibuster entirely. I guess if they learned from their mistakes, they wouldn’t be liberals.
That trip down Memory Lane is just preamble to this article, in which Judicial Watch head Tom Fitton warns that the nakedly political indictment of former President Trump by a leftist local DA means “All bets are off,” and that conservative lawyers, DAs and judicial activists in red states will start indicting Democrats – and not just the low-hanging fruit like Hunter Biden, but President Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and many, many more.
And I have a feeling those DAs won’t have to stretch as far as Alvin Bragg to invent something to charge them with.
You’d think that the very people responsible for passing so many laws that everyone alive breaks 10 before breakfast without even knowing it would not have been so eager to weaponize indictments on flimsy grounds for political purposes. But I guess since they were more focused in recent years on banning the Bible than on reading it, they’ve never heard Hosea 8:7:
“For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind.”
