The new jobs report
Speaking of being snakebit, the snake struck the Harris campaign ahead on Friday morning with the Labor Department’s release of the final monthly jobs report before the election. Brace yourself:
https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2024/11/01/october-jobs/
Economists had expected that 110,000 jobs were created in October. The actual number: 12,000. No, that’s not a typo. Just 12,000 jobs in the entire United States.
Trump’s campaign put out this statement in response: “This jobs report is a catastrophe and definitively reveals how badly Kamala Harris broke our economy. In a single month, Kamala’s failed economic agenda wiped out nearly 30,000 private sector jobs and nearly 50,000 manufacturing jobs. Working families are being ripped off by the Harris-Biden economic agenda. Kamala broke the economy. President Trump will fix it.”
The pathetic jobs number was blamed partially on the hurricanes. I can see that, but if you blame Trump for job losses due to a virus, then you have to take the blame for job losses due to hurricanes. Besides, what’s the excuse for the September jobs number also being “revised” downward from 254,000 to 223,000? Other than that’s what usually happens: The big, splashy happy news jobs report is quietly revised downward a month later. The jobs number has been revised down twice as often in the last 21 months as it’s been revised upward.
https://instapundit.com/681518/
I shudder to think what that 12,000 jobs number will be revised downward to.

The media has ignored this story
Guy Benson at Townhall.com reports that while media outlets were obsessing over a joke told at a Trump rally, they ignored the story of a Jewish man who was shot while on his way to synagogue in Chicago. His alleged attacker also fired on first responders while shouting, “Allahu Akbar!” Police shot him, and he was hospitalized. Turns out he is an illegal alien from Africa who entered the US via the “sanctuary state” of California, was apprehended, then released into the US by the Biden-Harris Administration.
Gee, I wonder why they were more interested in a bad joke at a Trump rally than reporting this?
How Biden celebrates Halloween
I suppose all families have their own unique holiday traditions, but I never would have guessed that President Biden celebrates Halloween by nibbling on costumed babies, including putting their feet in his mouth.
Oh well, at least he’s not putting his own foot in his mouth for a change.

High hopes in….Puerto Rico
Of course, what started all this was the Democrats pulling their patented “Karen” move of loudly proclaiming how offended they were by a joke on behalf of someone else, in this case, Puerto Ricans. If it helps, they can rest easy knowing that Puerto Rico’s Shadow Sen. Zoraida Buxó appeared at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, where she gave him her effusive endorsement.
She said, “The people of Puerto Rico trust you and have high hopes. We need this man back in the White House. We need this man to be our commander-in-chief. He will make us feel safe, and he will protect us.” Sounds like she realizes that in a world where Biden and Harris are letting Iran advance toward building nuclear bombs, we have bigger problems to worry about than a joke that bombs.
If the Dems are disappointed that Puerto Ricans weren’t offended by the joke, they could always pretend to be offended by George Lopez telling a joke about Mexicans being thieves. Oh, wait: he told that at a Kamala Harris rally. Never mind!
Liberal elites continue to insult Flyover Country
I know the leftist political and media elites live in their own bubbles and are totally out-of-touch with regular Americans in what they disdainfully call “Flyover Country” (I even wrote a book about it before Trump ever entered politics)…
https://www.amazon.com/Guns-Grits-Gravy-Mike-Huckabee/dp/1250060990/
But do they even know what a regular human being is? They have all the understanding of normal people that an anteater has of a Coke machine. They’re like Data the android trying to figure out how to be human. They are so utterly clueless about normal people that they think the way to appeal to men is to give us Tim Walz playing video football with AOC with his game controller turned off, or a bunch of “manly” Village People impersonators boasting about voting for Kamala while eating carburetors.
Now, they’ve proven they know nothing about normal women either (which makes sense, since they can’t even define what a “woman” is, but they believe they can have male genitalia.) Check out this condescending ad narrated by Julia Roberts. It depicts an insulting stereotype of Republican married couples and tells the wives that they're allowed to vote for Kamala and keep it secret from their dumb, clueless MAGA husbands.
They seem to have the strange idea that Republican wives vote how they're told and are afraid to tell their husbands their political opinions (Boy, are they wrong!) And that the women have to be informed that they don’t have to obey their husbands at all times (Ditto!)
Come to think of it, an anteater probably does have a better grasp of a Coke machine than liberal Hollywood celebrities do of how a successful marriage works.
Harris pivots
With voting well underway and the nearly obsolete “Election Day” less than a week away, Kamala Harris made a last-minute pivot and declared at a rally that she will listen to and work with everyone, including “people who disagree with me.” She claimed that she doesn’t believe they’re the enemy, and she’ll give them a “seat at the table.” That went over about as well with her audience of intolerant TDS patients as you’d expect.
To be fair, I can understand why they’d be upset. I wouldn’t want Trump to give a seat at the table of power to a bunch of racist, fascist Nazi garbage, either.
Now, this is an endorsement I would have loved to get:
Astronaut, Korean War combat veteran, American hero and the second man to walk on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, made his first political endorsement ever, “wholeheartedly” backing Trump for President. Read his entire statement here:
Praying for Our Country
By Kenneth Allard
Last Sunday, our pastor called the church to prayer, and not for victory on either side in next week’s election. No, this solemn assembly sought to raise the level of our congregation to something approaching the stakes confronting us on November fifth, a stark reality that some have called the most consequential choice in our long and sometimes uncertain past. If that seems over-stated, recall that our only Civil War began after Abraham Lincoln won the election of 1860. In recounting the tensions leading to Fort Sumter, historian Erik Larson ascribed that long-running tragedy to “The Demon of Unrest.” https://www.amazon.com/Demon-Unrest-Hubris-Heartbreak-Heroism/dp/0385348746/https://www.amazon.com/Demon-Unrest-Hubris-Heartbreak-Heroism/dp/0385348746/ref=sr/
To drive out today’s demons, our pastor first prayed that God’s purposes would be fulfilled in this election, that it would be decided not on the basis of race, party, gender or corruption but for the welfare of our brothers and sisters. He even prayed for our stewardship in choosing who to vote for, that no corruption, plot or misadventure would play any role in that decision. Praying for life and safety, he even invoked Isaiah’s ancient words “That no weapon formed against you shall prosper…(Isaiah 54:17, NKJV).
When early voting started in Texas this week, I was still pondering that invocation in an odd mixture of hope and skepticism. For many years, the “old soldier” in me has worried about the steady decline in the number of Americans willing to serve in our armed forces – now hovering at less than one percent. Does such a country even deserve to remain free? Would we respond as bravely as the Ukrainians and Israelis when they came under attack? No sooner had those mental gyrations calmed than my business-warrior psyche began pondering the tightly integrated cyber-military-economic-espionage/AI-whole-of-society onslaught now arriving each day courtesy of the People’s Republic of China. I had barely finished Calder Walton’s magisterial history of Russian and Soviet intelligence, Spies, only to discover that his final chapter is a thoroughly alarming thirty-page coda detailing “The New Cold War” with China in which we are currently engaged! Who knew?
https://www.belfercenter.org/publication/spies-epic-intelligence-war-between-east-and-west
In contrast to my mental calisthenics, our trip to the polls this week was uneventful, even encouraging – although I admit to watching too many Hallmark movies. It only took a half-hour on a bright, sunny day but the crowd seemed happy - except for the malcontent who bemoaned the poor performance of the Dallas Cowboys. My standard uniform for the polls is strictly non-political (Go Army! Beat Navy!) but a surprising number of people came over to thank me for my service. A one-time draftee, I thanked them all for exercising the rights that every soldier, sailor, airman and marine was privileged to defend.
That warm glow of self-congratulations lasted only until mid-week when, like a fool, I turned off Hallmark and started watching the news. Having spent nearly a decade as an on-air military analyst with the networks of NBC News, I should have known better than to watch MSNBC - now little more than an electronic message board for Democrats. Having known her father and her younger brother, I always looked forward to appearing with Mika Brzezinski. But 30 years ago, we adopted my daughter, who is now the mother of my three beloved grandsons: Any idea how little patience I have when listening to a well-paid “analyst” like Mika talking about the “reproductive freedom” women should enjoy? Clearly, those freedoms do not include the unborn baby brutally torn from its mother’s womb. How exactly are we morally superior to the perpetrators of the Holocaust or, for that matter, those benighted heathen sacrificing their infants to the Canaanite fire-god Moloch?
My colleague Charles Lipson, as he so often does, made exactly the right points about the disgusting “lack of decency” in our public discourse, from Donald Trump’s alleged “comedian” at Madison Square Garden to President Biden’s unbelievably crass labeling of his opponents as “garbage.” As Professor Lipton correctly points out, such tactics “weaken two central pillars of a stable constitutional democracy: The legitimacy of opposing candidates, (and) if they are elected…peaceful contests to choose them, followed by peaceful transfers of power.” https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/comment/2024/10/30/america-is-sinking-into-the-muck/
In short: Remember that this brief commentary began by recalling our linkages to the Civil War, still our most destructive conflict after all these decades of bloodletting. Are you political and media idiots blind as well as stupid? Or don’t you even remember those lessons we learned so recently back in Bosnia: That civil wars are frighteningly easy to start but the Devil’s own nightmare to stop.
Colonel (Ret.) Ken Allard is a former member of the West Point faculty, Dean of the National War College and on-air military analyst with NBC News.
As early voting ends, trust in the current system is largely gone
Early voting is winding down, after a whole month of it (can you believe that?) in some states. This week, we’ve reported some stories of alleged election interference while holding off on others that needed some verification.
Of course, social media will try to shut down ALL stories that might encourage distrust of the system, regardless of their truth and regardless of whether or not that system actually deserves our trust. They want to shoot the messenger when the right way to maintain trust in the system is to fix whatever is wrong, not try in vain to cover up the problems.
So let’s start by acknowledging that trust in our election system is already largely gone. (Again, that does NOT MEAN you fail to vote in this one!) According to a Rasmussen poll conducted this week and released Thursday, almost half of voters in the U.S. think election officials are involved in cheating.
Not just party operatives, which is bad enough. ELECTION OFFICIALS.
That’s compared to 27 percent who don’t believe this and 24 percent who are unsure. So, only about one-fourth of American voters think election officials are NOT involved in cheating. That’s stunning. (As Scott Adams says, you’ll always see about 25 percent, in any poll, who will believe anything.)
A Marist poll conducted about a month ago found that 58 percent of Americans --- 86 percent of Republicans and 55 percent of independents --- said they were concerned or very concerned that voter fraud will occur this year.
So, why would so many Americans be concerned about this? The left would say it’s because of “misinformation” spewed by President Trump about 2020, but his doubts are based in reality --- things we saw, too, if we were paying attention but were prohibited from talking about. An ever-lengthening list of very real stories feeds the distrust. One that just broke is that in Colorado, the two election system passwords appear to have been leaked (intentionally or not) by an anti-Trump election official, Secretary of State Jena Griswold, or someone in her office.
As reported in AMERICAN MILITARY NEWS, “Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, has faced backlash over her office sharing a spreadsheet online that contained voting system passwords. Griswold previously attempted to have former President Donald Trump removed from the 2024 ballot over claims that Trump engaged in an insurrection after the 2020 presidential election.”
Here’s the full story. We don’t know how long the machines were vulnerable before the passwords were changed or if the machines have actually been compromised by this, but it sure doesn’t inspire confidence.
In good news out of Arizona, the State Superior Court has ordered Secretary of State Adrian Fontes to release the list of up to 218,000 registered voters who did not provide proof of citizenship as required by law. (Fontes had blamed a “computer glitch” for this happening.) Many thanks to America First Legal for suing --- and winning --- on behalf of Strong Communities Foundation of Arizona to get this done. Fontes has till Monday, the day before Election Day, to comply.
The Trump campaign is asking for an investigation of Democrat operatives in Pennsylvania allegedly wearing fake badges and posing as election officials on some self-appointed “Voter Protection” team. Reportedly, a helpline phone number on their badges is really a number for the Democrat Party. Some in Bucks County have posted that these “officials” have been shutting down the lines at polling places and telling people they can’t vote.
J. D. Vance is aware of these goings-on and has posted on X: “This is illegal, and [Pennsylvania Gov.] Josh Shapiro should do something about operatives in his own party depriving people of their right to vote. If he doesn’t, he’s complicit in voter fraud.”
Be sure and watch the stunning video, posted by podcaster Larry O’Connor, of a confrontation between someone getting in line to vote and one of these so-called “Voter Protection” people. The polls are supposed to be open for all who are in line by 4:30, the voter says, but she’s told by a woman with one of those badges that “voting is closed right now” and they had “cut the line” at 1:30. When the voter says loudly that “this is voter fraud,” another woman with the same kind of badge says, “No, it’s not,” and tells her to contact a county commissioner to complain, then turning her back to the voter and trudging away.
The video is oddly chilling, with this one woman complaining about voter fraud and everyone else standing around lifelessly, not reacting at all. One man who seems human drives by in a car and says he got it on video, but otherwise, they’re like pod people.
Here’s something else to check into: Normally, we might not link to one isolated example of a voting machine appearing to malfunction (this one is in Kentucky), but we do know of other cases (such as Dallas County) where some machines failed to tabulate correctly during routine checks and are being used anyway. At the link, here’s what it looks like when repeated attempts to vote for Trump finally show up...as a vote for Harris.
“Add it to the list of reasons to switch to paper ballots,” conservative commentator Nick Sortor said on X. “Why does this always seem to happen in one direction and not the other?” Good question.

Meanwhile, according to the Portland Police Bureau, investigators say the man who allegedly used incendiary devices to start fires in ballot dropboxes in Oregon and Washington has “a wealth of experience” in metalworking and welding and may be planning more attacks. And he drives a Volvo. But they still haven’t identified him.
He’s described as a white man between 30 and 40, someone who is balding or has very short hair. The devices he used had been marked with the words “Free Palestine” and “Free Gaza.” Authorities say they don’t know if he really is pro-Palestinian or just wants to create confusion.

Yesterday, we discussed the role played by the FBI in rigging the 2020 election by hiding the Hunter Biden laptop and then getting social media to suppress the story once it broke, just ahead of Election Day. Jonathan Turley recently participated in a panel that included a Facebook board member who also was a “content moderator,” and his new column is about their disagreement on free speech.
The internal communications at Facebook, recently revealed by Congress, reflect what Turley characterizes in his column as “an express effort” to appease Biden officials by censoring that story.
Turley writes: “In a new report released by the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Weaponization of Government, Facebook executives are shown following the lead of the FBI, which gave them prior warnings to prepare to spike such stories before the election. The FBI knew that the laptop was authentic. They had possession of the laptop, and American intelligence concluded that it was not Russian disinformation.”
As you know, the FBI, after shadowing Rudy Giuliani and, probably through him, NEW YORK POST journalist Miranda Devine, were anticipating the release of this damaging story and made sure Facebook and other social media expected a big piece of “Russian disinformation.” One Microsoft employee wrote, “FBI tipped us off last week that this Burisma story was likely to emerge.”
(By the way, this message manipulation wasn’t just about the election. The Biden administration was pressuring social media to remove COVID “misinformation” as well. “Can someone quickly remind me why we were removing --- rather than demoting/labeling --- claims that COVID is man-made,” asked Nick Clegg, Facebooks’s president of global affairs. The VP in charge of content policy wrote back, “We were under pressure from the administration to do more. We shouldn’t have done it.”)
Here’s more on the House report that Turley is referencing…
Here’s some good news: It can take a long time --- over a year in this case --- but at least one Democrat operative, caught on camera stuffing ballot dropboxes in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has been charged with election fraud and actually fired from her government job. Not kidding: a government employee was FIRED!
And now, some good news-bad news. The good news: the left might actually see the writing on the wall and anticipate a Trump victory!
The bad news: they’re planning violence for Election Night and the inauguration, to protest another Trump term. “We want to undermine Trump’s presidency from the get-go,” says one agitator, who similarly protested Trump in 2017 (in the riot to prevent the peaceful transfer of power that the Democrats never mention.) Multiple far-left and pro-Palestinian groups have already taken out permits for demonstrations. They just NEVER STOP. Read the post from reporter Mark Tapscott at Instapundit…

Eight years ago: the anniversary of the Alfa Bank hoax
Remember the Alfa Bank hoax, from the 2016 campaign? Trump, a supposed agent of Putin, was said to be communicating secretly with his buddy Vladimir through “pings” in a computer server in the Alfa Bank tower. But it turned out this accusation was just one more fraud; the “pings” were harmless marketing messages that had nothing whatsoever to do with President Trump.
The computer technicians who came up with this rot were actually working for Hillary’s campaign. It was on October 31, 2016, that she broke the “news” with a tweet from her then-senior policy adviser, Jake Sullivan (who’s now U.S. National Security Advisor under Biden). “This could be the most direct link yet between Donald Trump and Moscow,” Sullivan lied. To use the word of the week, it was all garbage.
This was eight years ago. Aren’t you tired of being lied to by the left?

Bottom Story of the Day!
Arnold Schwarzenegger endorsed Kamala Harris and is getting the expected razzing on social media for allegedly agreeing with her husband’s policy of impregnating the nanny. Although honestly, I believe he just agrees with her policies. After all, he is the guy who said during the pandemic, “S***w your freedom!” Sounds like her platform, all right.
