You can tell that Colorado has been taken over by leftist nutjobs and California transplants (but I repeat myself.)

Pray for our missing Marines
Five US Marines are missing after their military helicopter disappeared during a flight from Nevada to California. Its last known location was over the Cleveland National Forest. Search efforts are being hampered by strong storms. This is a breaking story, so please keep an eye on the news for updates and pray that they are found and brought home safely.

Just make cookies, please
It’s no secret that the woke left ruins everything it touches, so I really wish the makers of Oreos had had enough sense to remain apolitical and just make cookies. Unfortunately, they didn’t. Say, does anyone know where Hydrox stands on forcing gay and trans activism onto children?

Death in the Senate?
After pushing for the “bipartisan immigration reform bill,” Senate Republicans seem to have gotten the message from the furious public reaction that this would be political suicide and have turned against their own bill. Even GOP lead negotiator on the bill and its biggest defender, Sen. James Lankford, now won’t say if he’ll vote to advance it to floor. Maybe it won’t have to be killed in the House; it could die in the Senate.

Great News:
Actress Gina Carano was fired from the “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” by Disney, which also trashed her online because she posted some perfectly reasonable conservative political opinions on Twitter that sent woke leftists squealing like stuck pigs. Now, she's announced that she’s suing Disney and Lucasfilm. Elon Musk offered to pay the legal bills of anyone who was fired for posting their opinions on Twitter, she took him up on it, and the lawyers who examined her case think it’s plenty strong enough to sue.
Ironically, the case also may involve claims of sexual discrimination, since Disney did not discipline or smear a male castmate who posted far more provocative political tweets. But since his posts were from the left, it’s probably more a matter of political bias than gender bias.
I hope she wins so big that she ends up owning Disney, which might be the only way they will ever again make a movie that’s worth watching.
Joe Biden: I talk to dead people
Remember when Hillary Clinton claimed she “communed” with the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt? What is it with these Democrat politicians talking to dead people?

Taxing Our Patience:
You can tell that Colorado has been taken over by leftist nutjobs and California transplants (but I repeat myself.) Check out this latest proposed bill to tax every pet residents own (invertebrates included) at $8.50 each per year, and to force residents to register a “designated caregiver” for each pet (failure to do so would result in a $25 fine.) This includes invertebrates. So if you have a tank with 100 guppies and you don’t list a caregiver for each one, you would be on the hook for $850 in annual taxes, plus $2500 in fines.
I hope that this infuriates one of the Democratic Party’s biggest voting blocs: women with 35 cats.
UPDATE on DC court’s rejection of Trump’s immunity appeal
We’ll have more analysis soon, but in the meantime, Julie Kelly has the full transcript of the hearing if you’d like to read it.
Of course, the rejection by a three-judge panel from this court was expected. But, as Jonathan Turley explains, just the filing of it did what it needed to do, which was to buy Trump some time. Even so, he has very little time to file his request with the Supreme Court for a stay --- only until this coming Monday, February 12. The normal time given for an appeal is 90 days, and he’s allowed to take that long. BUT if he misses this quicker just-for-Trump deadline, his case will be un-frozen and go back to the District Court, where they can re-start pre-trial proceedings. And Trump has another big deadline coming up: February 8, for Supreme Court arguments in the Colorado ballot disqualification case!
Turley notes that Special Counsel Jack Smith’s window is starting to close if he wants to get his case tried before the election. We would add that this is his goal, of course: big-time election interference.
