Biden’s Amazon press conference
Despite his surprisingly cordial transition meeting with Trump, President Biden and his staffers seem determined to do everything they can to undermine Trump before he takes office. We already told you how they’re shoveling billions of dollars from the “Inflation Reduction Act” to shady green “nonprofits” recently formed by their cronies, to keep Trump from canceling the spending. They reportedly just promoted three DEI-pushing woke military leaders that Trump wants to replace. They were also trying to send as much money as possible to Ukraine to continue the war Trump vowed to end. But Biden’s latest move might be not merely unscrupulous but dangerous.
During a press conference in the South American rainforest to promote a reforestation program, Biden announced that he’s given permission to Ukraine to use American-made long-range missiles that can reach into Russia. The reason is that Russia has reportedly amassed 50,000 troops in the Kursk region, including 10,000 North Korean troops, and this will allow Ukraine to go on the offensive and maybe dissuade Kim Jong-Un from further involvement.
But critics across the political spectrum are alarmed that this escalation brings us a step closer to World War III. Vladimir Putin has said that he will consider it an act of war against Russia if any nuclear nation provides Ukraine with weapons to attack inside Russia’s territory, and he reserves the right to use nuclear weapons in response.
The leader of an opposition party in Russia said that allowing Ukraine to bomb Russia directly would mean “direct US participation in the military conflict in Ukraine. Which will inevitably entail the harshest response from Russia.” He warned, “The Biden administration cannot help but understand that it leaves the Trump team with the problem of resolving not only the Ukrainian conflict, but also an even more acute one – preventing a global confrontation.”
I assume the Biden Administration does understand that, even if Biden himself doesn’t. He ended his press conference by bizarrely turning around and walking into the rainforest. It would be a blessing for America and the world if his entire Administration would go away now by doing the same thing.
A “cloud has been lifted”
For years, we’ve asked the question, “Who decided the left's subjective opinions were the only acceptable truth?" Over the past decade, Americans have grown wary of speaking their minds on social media or wearing a red cap in public for fear of being fired, berated, slandered, canceled or physically assaulted. Making fun of these people and pointing out their lunacy was a lonely job for us throughout that time. But we sensed for a while that Americans were fed up with it, and the tide was turning. The election wasn’t the revolution (that had already been underway for a while), but it was the final tide-turning victory.
And now, people all over the place are openly declaring that they like Trump, they support Trump, and they don’t care what a bunch of cry-baby leftists think about it. They no longer determine what’s cool, we do, and we say Trump is cool.
You can see it in NFL games, where touchdowns are suddenly being celebrated with the viral “Trump dance.”
Trump attended a UFC fight at Madison Square Garden Saturday and was greeted with a roaring ovation. UFC champ Jon Jones did the Trump Dance in tribute, and after the fight, jumped out of the ring to hand Trump his championship belt.
Actress and filmmaker Justine Bateman said it feels as if a “cloud has been lifted” in show business. She said we “went ‘1984’ on ourselves” under Biden, but the “suffocating cloud” of leftist censorship is broken and free speech is back.
Meanwhile, celebrities who couldn’t get over learning that nobody cared about their political opinions and who kept up the anti-Trump tantrums and calling voters stupid are feeling the backlash. Disney’s bad penny star Rachel Zegler, who just keeps turning up on social media to run her mouth and doom their “Snow White” remake, took only a few days to apologize and retract her recent assault on Trump and his supporters.
Bill Maher blasted fellow liberals Friday for their refusal to do any self-reflecting on their massive loss, reminding them of all the ways they were stupid, and informing them that Americans are fed up with their arrogance and insanity.
Even Joe Scarborough finally ended seven years of attacking Trump on MSNBC without ever talking to him. He and Mika Brzezinski went to Mar-A-Lago and actually spoke with the man who haunts their dreams. They’re still “scared,” but maybe it’s a first step to getting over their delusional hysteria.
Finally, the true signs that it’s a whole new ballgame: Trump just became the first Republican in history to get over 76 million votes…and he not only has a higher favorability rating than Taylor Swift (47% to 44% in a recent NY Times/Sienna poll), he also just inched past Swift in the number of followers on Twitter/X:
https://instapundit.com/685244/
It’s morning in America again, only this time, it appears that a lot of leftists are waking up with a throbbing hangover to discover that everyone is really angry at them for what they did when they were on that bender.
Trump to sue
Friday, President Trump’s attorneys announced that he is suing a number of media companies, including the New York Times, CBS News and the Daily Beast, for $10 billion for their nonstop campaign of malicious lies and defamation against him, tarnishing his name and the brands and images of his businesses.
As expected, the media outlets dismissed the suit as “meritless” and stood by their lies, bias and defamation (just joking, don’t sue us!) It is notoriously hard for a public figure to win a defamation suit, but some commenters suggested that might not be the point. If the case drags on for years, as these things tend to do, these outlets might think more carefully about their “reporting” if they’re involved in ongoing litigation with courts evaluating the veracity of their denials. Maybe Trump is suing them to scare them into acting like journalists for a change.
A quick and easy way to remove IRS agents
We first reported this story last summer, but it’s taken on new life with Trump’s election. An audit by the Treasury IG found that 149,000 federal employees owe $1.5 billion in unpaid taxes. As Sen. Joni Ernst noted, “Tens of thousands are repeat tax cheats, failing to file tax returns year after year, and the number is steadily increasing.” And that includes more than 5,800 employees of the IRS, the agency that harasses the rest of us as far as into prison to wring every dime out of us. They owe a collective $50 million in back taxes.
Republicans had introduced a bill to bar anyone with serious delinquent tax debt from federal employment, but it hadn’t gone anywhere. Now, maybe it will. If Trump wants to slash the IRS, this would be a quick and easy way to remove 5,800 IRS agents, which would be a good start on rolling back the 8,300 new agents the Democrats voted to hire.
Helpful reminder
Soon-to-be-no-longer-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is piously lecturing Republicans to practice bipartisanship when they take over the Senate. So here’s a reminder from Matt Vespa that before the election, when Schumer thought the Democrats would hold the Senate and White House, he was talking about nuking the filibuster to strip all rights away from the minority and ram through the left's agenda. So, why was that okay for him to do, but not for us?

Some Democrats blame Pelosi
Nancy Pelosi has already filed to run for reelection in 2026, but there are growing signs that Democrats have had enough of her and blame her misguided tactics, including pushing Biden out of the race, for their across-the-board losses.
And More Hope And Change:
The Chicago City Council unanimously rejected leftist Mayor Brandon Johnson’s proposed $300 million property tax hike to deal with all the illegal migrants. Some red-cap wearing black Trump supporters also came to the meeting to rub his nose in it. They told him Illinois is already purple, and it’s going to turn red, and if he’s having trouble paying for all the illegal migrants, he should try kicking them out.
Least Surprising “Shocking” News of the Day:
According to a leaked medical report, the Algerian “trans” boxer who won the gold in “women’s boxing” in the Olympics after nearly killing "her" female opponents reportedly has testicles and “a testosterone level typical of males.”
New sheriff in town; DOJ officials are running for the hills
When conservative news and opinion sites such as ours were throwing red flags about the weaponization of the Biden DOJ, the refrain on the left was, “Well, if you haven’t done anything wrong, why are you so afraid of the legal system?”
But there was good reason for concern. We’d seen innocent people --- up to and including President Donald Trump --- railroaded and found guilty by partisan juries in partisan courtrooms. We’d seen incredibly long prison sentences handed down by partisan judges. And even for those who might not be convicted, the legal expenses resulting from indictments based on nothing but partisan differences could lead to bankruptcy court and personal ruin. Just look at how the life and career of one good man, Gen. Mike Flynn, was upended.
To quote Mae West in an entirely different context, “Goodness had nothin’ to do with it.”
But the tables have been turned, and as Julie Kelly reports, the DOJ is in panic mode because they know that in two months, a new sheriff is in town. Gosh, if these officials and assets did nothing wrong, why are they fleeing the Department of “Justice,” resigning before Trump can be inaugurated, and some even fleeing the country? We’ll say to them what they have long said to us: if you haven’t done anything wrong, why are you afraid of the legal system?
The answer is, they HAVE. And as we’ve reported, “Special Counsel” Jack Smith --- who never was confirmed by the Senate --- and his prosecution team are already turning in their resignations and high-tailing it far, far away. In an update, Smith has just withdrawn his appeal of Judge Aileen Cannon’s order to dismiss the so-called “classified” documents case in Florida. He’s also asked for a halt to the proceedings in the January 6 case against Trump in Washington DC.
Kelly has found that this “resume-burnishing” includes “main Justice” (the Washington DOJ), the FBI and their field offices, and the office of the U.S. Attorney in DC, Matthew Graves. Graves is the Biden-appointed prosecutor overseeing the J6 cases; he’s also the prosecutor who refused to cooperate with U.S. Attorney David Weiss in the case against Hunter Biden.
As Kelly reports, “Anonymous ‘sedition hunters’ who have aided the FBI in targeting and identifying hundreds of J6-ers deleted their social media accounts over the weekend for fear of reprisal; the FBI reportedly paid ‘sedition hunters’ as FBI informants to help their pursuit of Trump supporters.”
Our tax dollars at work.
Apparently, it was the proposed nomination of Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz as Attorney General that really sent them into a spin. As Kelly puts it, “Gaetz resigned his Florida House seat last week to prepare for a nasty confirmation fight and avoid release of a House Ethics report into debunked allegations about Gaetz’s conduct.” CNN reported that when Gaetz’s name was announced, “One career official described hearing audible cries of ‘Oh, my God,’ echoing down the hallway inside DOJ’s headquarters.”
They’re all calling their lawyers.
(Side Note: Liz Wheeler at The Blaze has the full story of the allegations against Gaetz and why she leans toward the position that it’s all a big smear job: https://www.theblaze.com/shows/the-liz-wheeler-show/the-story-behind-the-accusations-against-matt-gaetz-that-no-one-is-talking-about?tpcc=email-premiumtest )
So, does this mean the new Trump administration is “weaponizing” the Department? No, it simply means that outgoing officials know what they did and that Gaetz knows what they did, or has a good idea. As Kelly reports, “Their criminal exposure is so serious that one long-time Democratic operative is advising top targets to leave the country.” That operative would be Mark Zaid, whose name might be familiar to you because he represented Eric Ciaramella, the so-called “whistleblower” at the State Department who sparked Trump’s first sham impeachment by mischaracterizing a phone call Trump had had with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.
Zaid recently told both CNN and POLITICO that government officials worried about litigation should travel “outside the country” around Inauguration Day. He says those who don’t take this threat seriously are “naive and foolish.” And even if officials aren’t prosecuted, he said, they might have their security clearances revoked --- which we’d say needs to happen anyway --- or be transferred to some God-forsaken post.
To help them deal with the stress of possible prosecution, he’s even advising them to seek mental health care. His team is “making sure we have lawyers, CPAs, psychiatrists and other experts in their fields ready and willing to volunteer their time for free to represent anyone who faces retaliation directly.”
One thing, though: This is NOT RETALIATION. This is justice. The people who should worry are the ones who, for example, fiercely abused the due process rights of nonviolent J6-ers. Now they get to cry their little hearts out to a mental health professional. Hope they learn something from it. I doubt the J6 political prisoners had that kind of support system in place to help them.
Cher and Barbra Streisand might not be fleeing the country (too bad), but Jack Smith and his top prosecutor, David Harbach, are returning to The Hague in the Netherlands, where they had previously been prosecuting the war crimes of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci.
Others are waiting until Trump is inaugurated, to see what investigations he calls for via executive order. Will they include the Russia collusion hoax? The cover-up of Biden family corruption? Collusion between the Biden White House and the J6 prosecution and/or “classified” documents case? As Kelly says, “...therein lies the panic within the DOJ and national security state. The ground is fertile for multiple investigations with legitimate criminal liability for top officials including Smith, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and DC U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves in addition to line prosecutors and investigators.”
Julie Kelly herself is very happy about these prosecutors having to fear their own lives being wrecked, after what they did to the J6 defendants. She can tell you about that in about one minute...
Mike Benz, THE best and most trusted source regarding the inner workings of the DOJ and Deep State, has been raising a red flag of his own that President Trump needs to see before he appoints his new FBI director. Benz points out that Mike Rogers, reportedly in the running, has been involved in various pro-censorship groups such as Alliance for Securing Democracy, Hamilton68 (which he describes as “the fake Russian bot folks”), the Integrity Initiative and the Beacon Project. This is the “Nina Jankovicz” crowd (remember Mary Poppins singing about “disinformation” with a gleam in her eye?). Unless there’s something about this Mike Benz doesn’t know --- and there’s not much he doesn’t know --- Trump needs to keep Mike Rogers far away from the job of FBI director.
https://x.com/pepesgrandma/status/1857522444933935573
So who SHOULD be the new FBI director? Former Special Agent Daniel Brunner says that if former Trump administration aide Kash Patel were chosen to lead the FBI, it would do “massive damage” to the Bureau. Why? Well, his resume isn’t “traditional.”
We prefer to take that as a ringing endorsement of Patel, whose knowledge of the Deep State might be up there with that of Mike Benz. As you might imagine, there’s a highly entertaining parade of posts on X in response to Brunner’s “warning.”
Trump’s level of mistrust of the FBI is so high, he’s reportedly relying on private companies --- NOT the FBI --- to do background checks on potential administration employees during the transition. In 2016, the FBI abused their power to do security clearances to stall and block Trump’s appointments. That’s not happening this time.
As President, Trump has unilateral authority to grant security clearances to anyone he wants. (This is the same authority a President can use to declassify documents. How ironic that the FBI conveniently forgot that at Mar-A-Lago...)
RELATED STORY: Speaking of “disinformation,” Texas Sen. John Cornyn --- who was recently in the running for Senate Majority Leader and lost to John Thune --- is reportedly involved behind the scenes with the State Department’s Global Engagement Center. We’ve discussed the GEC before; as REVOLVER NEWS reports, “This group is like a Who’s Who in Deep State politics...sounds like yet another red-tape bureaucratic group aiming to turn its political guns on the American people.”
The GEC helped fund the U.K.’s Global Disinformation Index (GDI), which warns away advertisers from “harmful” conservative sites, with the goal of demonetizing those sites for spouting what they consider “disinformation.’ We were honored to be on their list. In fact, this is one reason why we went ad-free and now exist on paid subscriberships; no need to bow to any such organization. They also funded the censorship group NewsGuard.
https://x.com/AFergusonFTC/status/1856152760850243905
The Global Engagement Center is one of the first departments that should be trimmed off by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy’s committee. Even if our country weren’t trillions of dollars in debt, we wouldn’t want THIS. Shut this baby down; it has no place in a free country.
We’ll leave you with an interesting piece, from Steve Bannon’s WAR ROOM, on how the narrative about the Deep State, as presented in propaganda rags such as THE ATLANTIC, has been changing in recent years. Back in 2017, when Trump was first in office, they ran a piece called “There is no American ‘Deep State,’” saying it was nothing more than conspiracy theory --- an absurd idea, one that authoritarian leaders (like Trump?) might “weaponize.” This could lead to “dangerous repression of dissent”! So, in the interest of the country (sure, right), they dismissed the idea.
But in 2024, when Trump was running for re-election, they shifted their tone, with a piece called “There Really is a Deep State.” (Not kidding.) Not only did “entrenched bureaucratic forces” exist in our government after all, they said, but these forces were GOOD, acting like a safety net, “a benevolent force, working to protect the public from a potentially hazardous shift [caused by Trump?].” They’re there to defend democracy by protecting us from democracy.
This is a must-read for anyone who desires more awareness of how the “secret hand” tries to shape our awareness, Orwell-style. That’s especially good to have now that Trump is back.
Elections are a hot mess in Washington State
Perhaps you’ve seen letters in our comments section from subscribers who live in Washington State and are resigned to elections there being a complete mess. Read this piece and you will see that they are not exaggerating one bit.
If the left has its way, our entire country will one day conduct its elections as they do in Washington State. And then, we will never have trustworthy and transparent elections again, not to the slightest degree. So, who in Congress is working on developing and implementing a nationwide standard for federal elections, one that requires ID and relies minimally on absentee or mail-in ballots?
Breaking News:
Tuesday morning, reports appeared that Ukraine is already launching long-range missiles into Russian territory, which President Biden announced he would allow on Sunday. There are conflicting reports of what damage was caused, with Ukraine claiming they hit their targets and Russia claiming they shot the missiles down.
Either way, it’s a worrisome escalation thanks to a lame duck President. Putin had warned that any move by the US or NATO to help Ukraine strike inside Russia would be seen as an act of war, and he would reserve the right to a nuclear response to a non-nuclear attack. We can only hope and pray that’s just rhetoric, since he knows Trump will be taking over in January, and things will change substantially if Biden doesn’t give us World War III for a Christmas gift.
Counter-Point: Stephen Green of PJ Media argues that the authorization given to Ukraine is limited, the concerns are overblown and Ukraine striking back isn’t escalation. In this case, we would welcome our worries proving groundless, but we worry that they’re not.
https://pjmedia.com/vodkapundit/2024/11/18/striking-back-is-not-escalation-n4934393
