Note On Arizona
The judge has called an emergency hearing on Kari Lake’s lawsuit to overturn the Maricopa County election results. That’s coming later today, so we’ll have details on it tomorrow.
In the meantime, here’s a list of three glaring examples of illegal ballot harvesting that are crying out to be investigated and prosecuted. So why is nobody doing it, even in places run by Republicans?
Could it be that too many politicians would rather let our elections be hopelessly corrupted than do anything to stop it and risk being called an “election denier”?
Stop the spending
If you’re one of those people who likes to contact your Congress members to let them know what you think, then now would be a great time to let them know that you do NOT want them passing a giant omnibus spending bill larded with $16 billion worth of earmarks that takes control of spending away from the GOP House we just elected.
To the outgoing Congress: If you need to pass a bill to keep the government funded until the new Congress takes office, then do that. Stop trying to tie the hands of the next Congress by setting spending in stone until next September. There’s a reason so many Americans voted to put them in office instead of you.
Biden signs the wildly-misnamed “Respect for Marriage Act” into law
In a move that I predict will lead to further legal persecution of Christians and erosion of First Amendment religious freedom rights, and eventually to a Supreme Court case that will (hopefully) overturn this as unconstitutional, President Biden signed the wildly-misnamed “Respect for Marriage Act” into law.
This was passed with the support of a number of Republicans who need to be replaced. Some in the House later claimed that they didn’t realize the dangers it poses to First Amendment religious rights until after voting for it. To which I would say, if you don’t know that you shouldn’t vote for laws you haven’t read, then you have no business being in Congress.
Naturally, Biden couldn’t sign the bill without making a lot of fatuous comments, including pushing for abortion rights and this jaw dropper: “When a person can be married in the morning and thrown out of a restaurant for being gay in the afternoon, this is still wrong.”
Spoiler alert: Nobody is being thrown out of restaurants for being gay. However, people have been thrown out of restaurants for being Christian or Republican or unvaccinated or working for Donald Trump. You could ask my daughter Sarah about that.

For the record, meet one of the honored guests at the White House signing. Warning, you might not want your kids exposed to this, but if so, too bad. Public schools will expose them to it anyway, whether parents like it or not.

I should mention that not everyone was thrilled with Biden’s choice of honored guests.
Ban TikTok
Say, remember when President Trump talked about banning TikTok because it was communist Chinese spyware, and he was roundly mocked and ridiculed? Yeah, about that…
